I was inspired to take up photography from a young age through my father who was a keen amateur photographer during his time in the Army in Egypt. I started my career as a freelance press photographer with The Times in 1998 where my style led me away from hard news to features and portraits culminating in 2 awards for 'Feature photographer of the year' in both the Picture Editors' and the highly acclaimed British Press Awards. The winning entry contained the iconic image of Tony Blair walking into number 10 Downing Street with his reflection in the newly polished door. This picture subsequently appeared on the back cover of his autobiography. My style is influenced by my love of Surrealism and Dali in particular and I quickly moved from conformist newsprint to creative magazines, capturing intimate portraits of an eclectic array of public figures including King Charles, Norman Cook (Aka Fatboy Slim) David Walliams, Jimmy Carr amongst many others. I look to the future with never failing optimism and will continue to shoot for commercial clients, producing work of a high standard. In this, I will endeavour to search for more campaigns that take the mundane perception of a particular field and transform it through exciting and engaging images that would inspire.
