COMICS IN A WHITE SUIT - Personal Project
A series of portraits of British comedians all shot in the same Oswald Boateng white suit. The idea was to raise money for comic relief by approaching an array of british comic talents. I asked if they could spare 15 Minutes at a location that was convenient. I had to come up with shoot ideas based on these locations without having any prior knowledge or any preparation. These 30 portraits were shot over 4 weeks and raised around £2000.00
BOXERS - THE FIGHTS - Personal Project
After visiting a boxing gym in the East End of London, I noticed that the pictures around the gyms were uninspiring images of the boxers standing with their fists raised looking to camera. I decided to create some engaging images of boxers young and old and of all abilities to highlight these incredible athletes. 'ROOTS TO TITLES' is a project photographing boxers in different moments of their careers from amateurs to champions. The 'BOXERS' are shot directly after training, shadow boxing at speed to camera. 'The FIGHTS' are shot at various venues around London purposely avoiding any contact between the boxers.
LEADING LIGHTS - Commissioned
These portraits are of stemnet ambassadors who in their spare time look to inspire students to take up degrees in science and technology. Having shortlisted a number of subjects from a variety of scientific fields, the challenge turned to creating engaging portraits by transplanting the lab-based environment into an more inspiring setting -Taking the science out of the lab and showing the real life application. The finished project toured the country.
ANIMAL MAGIC - Commissioned
A series of portraits that ran weekly in Country Life Magazine as a double page image led feature. The brief was to take engaging portraits of people and the animals they either work with or have as pets. A challenge as you are pretty much have to let the animals do what they want and try a get an angle of interest.
